How do I prevent Contacts from being mapped in an Event?

I am creating a New Event and do not want my registered contacts mapped.   I ran a test with one contact and when I view this contact, it shows it as being mapped.

I don't see an option either way to have them automatically mapped or not mapped.

I want these registered contacts to remain in the CDO/CDR.
